River Trips
The Greenbrier is the longest undammed river in the eastern United States. It runs a total of 173 miles and supplies the New River with an estimated 30% of its volume.
To check water level on the Greenbrier, follow this link to the ALDERSON GAUGE for current and predicted water levels. We like to see the river between 2.5 and 4.5 on the gauge for the best paddling.
We supply boats and tubes, paddles, PFDs. You bring hats, jackets, coolers and ice, sunblock, suitable foot wear (no flip flops) and clothing to match the time of year and to ensure a comfortable day on the river. A waterproof bag is recommended for cameras, cell phones keys and wallets. Enjoy some R & R at River Ridge Campground!
SHUTTLE SERVICE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
Although we provide rates for solo paddlers, we do not recommend going it alone unless you’re experienced and confident of your river skills.
We recommend that you call in advance to rent equipment.
